Do machines develop a mind of their own?

I’ve got the age when, if there is a toilet nearby, I use it. You never know when the next opportunity “to go” will be!

Fortunately I pass 3 public toilets on my morning walk and I usually have to use one of them – especially when it’s cold

Two of them have basins, hot water, soap and hot air dryers that work. One of them has an “all in one” machine.

I’d like to talk to the designer and this “all in one” machine! It’s designed with 3 key features …

Even a queue provides an opportunity!

I am sure it has nothing to do with me.

I stand in queues and talk to people.

I ask them questions. I share the experience.

A few are taken aback and limit their responses but most are pleased to have someone to talk to while they are waiting.

A necessary part of life but you gain more publicity at these events than you would believe.
As soon as you enter the room you are on view.
Entering in a rush, laptop bag swinging over your shoulder with a handful of papers about to fall out onto the floor gives an immediate first impression ….
