Simplicity
My iPhone 4 started to have some issues recently when I tried to open the camera application to take a photo. The screen wobbled for about 10 seconds and then the phone would shut down.
I rang my service provider, O2, who were very helpful but recommended I booked an appointment with an Apple Store Genius. I had never heard of one of those but I checked online and, sure enough, I saw that I could select an Apple Store and book an appointment for them to check it out.

At the end of the session it felt as if we had travelled back in time and we all felt better for the experience.
We had all left “The Big Corporation” years back, some as recently as three years ago, others over ten. But we had kept in touch – via e mail, via LinkedIn and via other friends’ gatherings.
So what would we talk about?
Families, what we were now doing (Charities, Voluntary work, new business ventures, local community involvement), some common issues, some relating to age!
But the main component was “The Big Corporation”.

Recently I decided to buy a hat online.
Initially I felt this might be risky given that most people recommend you “try it on before you buy it” because sizes can be variable but I liked the clear instructions on their website, with a clever distinction in size differences between US hats and those manufactured in the UK.
I ordered my hat, it arrived in 3 days and it was perfect. E Mail confirmation of order arrived almost instantly and it duly arrived in a nice box.

In this fast moving world there are many reasons why it is becoming increasingly difficult to make real time contact with people.
People are at meetings, on the Tube, driving to appointments, away from the desk, away from the office and quite rightly, do not want to be disturbed.
And this is to be expected – some even turn their mobile phones off to ensure privacy and no interruptions.
